Rumors say that Madonna may come to Lima, also on the list is U2. Monumental Stadium leaders claim they have been negotiating dates with the artists.
After the impressive concert which featured Paul McCartney in Lima last month, everything portends that the Queen of Pop, Madonna, and the English band U2 may be the next two megastars to come to Peru, following in the steps of the former Beatle.
La Républica says this information has been learned, not from the mouths of zealous entrepreneurs, but the leaders of the Monumental Stadium.
When consulted, the entrepreneur Jorge Ferrand (who brought Paul McCartney to Peru) wanted to keep his distance from the rumors.
"Not true, absolutely not. For my part I have nothing to do with the issue," Ferrand said.
However, he revealed that another superstar, which he said is not Madonna or U2, will perform in the month of September.
"I am currently vacationing in Mancora, but I'm working on the arrival of another superstar to bring to Lima the first of September for the reopening of the National Stadium," he said. "Next week we will know the details through my head of press."
