Oscar Nominations Are In....

The Oscar nominations were announced bright and early this morning, with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button coming out on top with a whopping 13 nominations. Fan-favorite Slumdog Millionaire came in second with 10. On a bittersweet note, Heath Ledger's nominations for his supporting role in The Dark Knight fell on the one-year anniversary of his death. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were also nominated, as they were at the Golden Globes. Kate Winslet was recognized for her role in The Reader, but she failed to score a second nod for her work in Revolutionary Road. Leonardo DiCaprio was left out of the running completely. -- Jacki Garfinkel

La actriz ha grabado su primer disco titulado “Verónica Orozco” del que se desprende el primer sencillo “Las Bragas”, una canción fuera de lo común . “Quiero jugar a ser otra, quiero ser dueña de mí, sin que nadie me diga loca”, comienza cantando Verónica Orozco en el primer sencillo de su álbum debut. Así nació este proyecto discográfico que la tiene por protagonista, junto al productor Bernardo Ossa, lograron un trío muy profesional, con la seguridad que pudieron traducir musicalmente lo que cada uno tenia en mente. El primer sencillo del disco es Las Bragas, donde una letra franca, directa y cotidiana muestra con rebeldía la posición desafiante de una mujer frente a un hombre. “Esta canción definió el concepto del disco, tanto en su mensaje como musicalmente”, explica en referencia a esta novedosa manera de hacer pop, donde se escuchan desde congas hasta el sonar de un bandoneón. “Realmente, no hay nadie que esté haciendo lo que hago. Siento que ésta es una nueva manera de decir las cosas, sin rodeos, un poco más atrevida y con cierto humor negro que nos hace reír de nosotros mismos”, explica. Jett Travolta : "Rest in Peace"

What a heartbreaking day it must have been for John Travolta and Kelly Preston, as the couple had to say goodbye to their first-born, Jett Travolta, who passed away from a seizure last week at the age of 16.

Close friends and family came together under a tent outside the Travoltas' house in Ocala, Fla., to remember Jett.

According to the Ocala Star-Banner, James Gandolfini, Garth Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood, Forest Whitaker, Lisa Marie Presley, Kirstie Alley and Cal Ripken Jr. were among the 100 or so people in attendance.

A female minister from the Church of Scientology was the only one who spoke during the hour-long service and, when the service ended, John and Kelly reportedly kissed a large photograph of Jett that stood behind the minister's podium.

A steady stream of fans and supporters left gifts and sympathy cards with the security officers at the front gate of the estate throughout the day.

We pray John, Kelly and their family find a way to heal and move forward.

It's a girl for Bennifer 2.0!

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are the proud parents of another daughter, according to UsMagazine.com.

Sources say Violet's baby sister was born on Tuesday and, after, Jen "was wheeled on a roll-away hospital bed. A blanket was draped over her, and it appeared that she was holding the baby. Shortly after, the hospital staff brought in a portable bassinet and heart monitor to check on the baby."

We'll let you know the baby's name as soon as we know it.

John Travolta's Son Dies

Such a tragic news.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, has died. According to the actor's lawyer, Michael Ossi, the boy suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he died on the scene.

Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas confirmed the death to TMZ.com.

John and Kelly also have a daughter, Ella, 8.

So awful. Our hearts go out to their family.

UPDATE: A police spokeswoman told the Associated Press that Jett hit his head in a bathtub Friday morning and was declared dead at Rand Memorial Hospital. According to police, a caretaker had found Jett unconscious in the bathroom around 10 a.m. An autopsy is being done determine the exact cause of death.


John Travolta "Heartbroken" Over Jett's Death

I'm still so sick over the news that John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son, Jett, is gone.

The 16-year-old boy passed away during a family vacation in the Bahamas. He reportedly hit his head in the bathtub on Friday morning and was found by the nanny. Sources say John tried to save his son by performing CPR.

"He didn't want anything to happen to that boy, and he kept on trying to revive him," the family's lawyer, Michael Ossi told People.com. "He did mouth-to-mouth until they had to physically remove John to take Jett to the hospital."

"He never dreamed of this - their relationship was so close," the attorney continued. "He always said 'I'm happy as long as my kids are happy.' He is heartbroken ... To bury your son is the worst thing you can ever do."

Jett had a history of seizures, but it is unclear if the bump on the head caused the seizure or vice versa. An autopsy is being performed.

Just so, so sad.


The Travoltas Return Home with Jett's Ashes

How awful must it be for John Travolta and his family to return home from the Bahamas after the death of Jett Travolta?

John, Kelly Preston, and their daughter, Ella Blue, 8, flew back to Florida Monday night with Jett's ashes (they have a home in Ocala, Fla.), after the 16-year-old boy was cremated in the Bahamas.

Obie Wilchcombe, a member of the Bahamas parliament and a family friend, told the Associated Press on Tuesday, "Everything was in place, the cremation was completed, and they decided to leave."

Funeral plans have not yet been announced.

We hope they are able to find some peace in the future.
